Project Scissors is now NightCry, here’s a live action trailer

Last we talked about Project Scissors was when the game and its star studded team was announced. Revealed as a spiritual successor to Clock Tower from the game’s original creator, Hifumi Kono, NightCry has today been formally revealed with a live action trailer.

Directed by Takashi Shimizu, director of Ju-On and The Grudge, the live action trailer for NightCry shows a young boy haunted by some black, scissor-shaped entity. A cult seems to be involved as well with a shot of a creature rising up out of a well as hooded figures chanted around it. It’s a quick 30 second trailer, but it gets the point across: this is going to be a horror game. As for what this has to do with the main events in the game, which takes place on a cruise ship, I don’t know.

There’s no word on when we’ll see the actual game, but here’s hoping this trailer indicates we won’t have to wait long. With Kono and Shimizu being on board, plus Silent Hill‘s Masahiro Ito on creature and set design, NightCry has the potential to be quite the horror game. Here’s hoping it delivers.
