A title known only as Dead Island: Retro Revenge has been rated by the Brazilian and Australian classification boards. The Brazilian page defines the platforms as PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Could this mean another Dead Island announcement is imminent? Seeing as Dead Island 2 (pictured) is MIA, this could be a rename or something new entirely. The latter is more likely as one site notes the developer as Empty Clip Studio’s and the publisher as Koch Media, parent company of Dead Island publisher Deep Silver.
Empty Clip don’t seem to have made much other than some Wiiware and Mobile games, however. It appears as though something is happening with the Dead Island franchise, which is hopefully good news. I can see it being an indie style low budget downloadable title judging from the name and developer’s history. Either way, watch this space for any further updates on what this title actually is.
