DayZ Gets Performance Improvements and More with v.60 Update

The day many DayZ fans have been waiting for is here (one of them at least): Bohemia Interactive has released the first public iteration of DayZ featuring the new renderer, enabling improved performance (higher FPS), new visual effects, new animations, and more. Some major cities, like Chernogorsk, have been expanded as well.

While version .60 has been highly-anticipated for its performance improvements, Bohemia wants users to know that this is the first iteration available to the public, and bugs are to be expected. The update weighs in at 1.9Gb and can be accessed on the game’s experimental branch.

We’re still quite a way off from the game releasing out of Steam Early Access, but here’s hoping today’s update restores some faith in the game from those tired of waiting.
