BlackSoul: Extended Edition now available on Steam

Blacksoul

Are you looking for some thrilling survival horror for less than $10? Then BlackSoul: Extended Edition might just be the game for you.

BlackSoul released last October and had players take on the roles of Ava and Sean. The story is set in England during the early 70’s and involves a mysterious infection that turns humans into monsters. Our leads find themselves in the quarantine zone in pursuit of the truth behind the epidemic, which according to the Steam page has some connection to actual real-life events that took place in the same time period. Judging by some of the screenshots and the trailer below, the game looks a bit like the older Resident Evil games, what with the fancy mansion, the (optional) fixed camera perspectives and neck-hungry zombies.

The game was previously available on Desura where users gave it an average score of 8/10, praising the game’s solid atmosphere and length, though some detractors did report several compatibility issues and criticized the game’s poor controls. The game will be available at a 20% on Steam for a few days, but there is also a 50% discount available on Desura for another fifty hours.
