SEGA has officially come out of the woodwork and announced that Aliens: Colonial Marines for the Wii U has been cancelled. This comes after the game quietly missed its release window. I can’t say that I find this surprising, and I doubt many of you either. A SEGA representative spoke to Joystiq revealing the cancellation: “Sega can confirm that the Wii U SKU of Aliens: Colonial Marines is no longer in development,”.
Welp, that’s that. I’m not sure how many Wii U owners were dying for this game after watching its controversial and drama filled release. To say that the game was not received well would be an understatement. The title has been a PR nightmare for both Gearbox and SEGA; it’s safe to say that they’re hoping to move on from this mess–just don’t do it again, you crazy kids.
