During the recent Summer Game Fest, which took place last month, we saw announcements for many great titles, such as Alien: Isolation 2 and others. One such announcement was SAW: Genesis, being developed by Broken Mirror Games in partnership with Anshar Studios, and being published by Bloober Team.
The developers have confirmed that the game is entering its Closed Alpha phase, which began a few days ago on Steam. As the team plans to showcase the game at Gamescom, selected players are getting an early look at the asymmetrical horror experience of SAW: Genesis.
Since this is the very first playtest, it focuses on checking server stability and matchmaking. Moreover, the team is also gathering feedback from selected players about the core gameplay loop of SAW: Genesis. Developers stated:
With every playtest, we plan to implement feedback, improve the game’s balance and meta, polish the gameplay experience and provide more ways for pure fun.
If you haven’t signed up for the testing and want to participate, no need to worry, as the team will be conducting multiple playtests before releasing the game in Early Access. The developers confirmed this by stating:
We are fully aware of how crucial it is to shape an asymmetrical multiplayer game together with the community, and our goal is to organise more playtests before the Early Access launch.
Nonetheless, it is good to see the dev team making an effort to gather feedback from players and improve the experience ahead of its Early Access launch. We are likely to hear more at the upcoming Gamescom, so be sure to follow us to stay updated on SAW: Genesis.
