It’s been a great time to be a Resident Evil fan. With a remake of the beloved Resident Evil 2 finally official, the success of Resident Evil HD Remaster and Revelations 2, and the upcoming release of Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster, there’s a lot to be happy about. Now we have something else to add to the upcoming list.

Umbrella Corps has just been announced. This multiplayer-focused, third-person shooter will see players take on opposing teams (3 vs. 3 by the looks of it) in environments designed after historic Resident Evil landmarks. The flow of the game will be fast-paced, with available modes encouraging quicker matches, like the One Life Match mode, which disables respawning.

The story setup for all the pew-pewing branches out of the fall of Umbrella, and the rise of other corporations sharing mutual interests in bio-weaponry. This results in all-out battles between different squads of mercenaries in zones infected with viruses.

You’ll have many weapons at your disposal, with some new ones like the Brainer (a powerful axe), the Tactical Shield (a zombie shield), Terrain Spikes (to trample enemies), and the Zombie Jammer (which, when enabled, will repel zombies). We’re also promised really precise controls over firearms when behind cover.

We’ll definitely have more news to share as we inch closer to its digital release in early 2016 (North America and Europe) for PlayStation 4 and PC. The game will be priced at $29.99.
