Resident Evil: Code Veronica Remake Officially Revealed, Launches in 2027

Resident Evil Code Veronica

After years of rumors and anticipation, a remake of Code Veronica has finally been confirmed during today’s Summer Game Fest event. Capcom further confirmed that Resident Evil: Code Veronica will release next year in 2027, and will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC.

The original was released in 2000, but since then, was made available on different platforms including PS2 and GameCube. It was also ported for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2011. However, following Capcom’s plan to revisit classic titles for a modern audience, fans have been eagerly waiting for a remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica.

Though many fans were disappointed when Capcom moved from remaking Resident Evil 2 & 3 to remaking Resident Evil 4 directly, seemingly leaving Code Veronica behind, it seems the developers have finally heard the fans, and we are really going to get Resident Evil: Code Veronica with modern graphics.

Capcom released a new teaser for the remake, which shows Claire Redfield visiting an apartment in Paris and looking for her brother, Chris. Soon after, she is captured by the same Umbrella forces from the original game.
