Resident Evil 0 Remake Reportedly Rebooted Mid-Dev, Now Led by Main Resident Evil Team

Resident Evil Zero Remake

Capcom saw massive success with its recent Resident Evil remakes, and the developers continue to bring more iconic titles to modern audiences. Earlier this month, Capcom officially announced Resident Evil Veronica, which is set to release next year.

Another mainline entry in the franchise, the Resident Evil 0 Remake, was rumoured to be in development for quite some time. According to leaker Dusk Golem, the remake was rebooted during development and restarted from scratch.

While previous rumours claimed that the project was being developed by the dev team behind Resident Evil 3 Remake, Dusk now says that is no longer the case.

Resident Evil Zero Remake May Add Co-op Mode, New Leak Claims

Dusk Golem claims that Resident Evil 0 Remake is now being developed by Capcom Division 1, the team working on every main Resident Evil title since 2017. D1 is also the same team currently working on Veronica. While the exact reason behind this change remains unknown, it appears that Capcom is more comfortable entrusting the project to its main Resident Evil team following the success of the franchise’s recent releases.

Dusk also discussed the recently announced Requiem DLC, claiming that it is planned for release after Resident Evil Veronica. Although Dusk Golem has been proven right many times in the past, it is still best to take this information with a grain of salt until Capcom officially announces the remake.
