Phasmophobia 1.0 Update Pushed to 2027, New Roadmap Revealed

Phasmophobia

Kinetic Games has now confirmed that the highly anticipated 1.0 update for Phasmophobia has been delayed to next year. While the developers previously said the game would leave early access this year, it seems the team needs more time to meet expectations.

The developers recently posted a press release confirming the delay of the game’s 1.0 update. According to the roadmap, the team plans to release the 13 Willow Street rework on July 21, 2026, alongside a Quality of Life update. The team will follow that with another QoL update in August.

Succeeding that, the developers will upgrade the game to Unity 6 in October 2026. An additional player character update will arrive in November, improving player models, animations, and adding customization options, giving the characters more life and personality than they currently have.

The team will also release the Edgefield Rework and Winter’s Jest later on in December. Speaking about the Phasmophobia 1.0 update delay, Kinetic Games CEO and game director Dan Knight said the team made the decision to ensure the game meets quality standards, as they don’t want to disappoint fans. He stated the following:

We know this will come as a disappointment to many, but this is the right decision to ensure we deliver the 1.0 version of Phasmophobia that is true to our vision, high quality standards, and provides the experience for players that we’ve always wanted to achieve.

While this delay may disappoint longtime fans, Kinetic Games says the extra time will help the team deliver the update at the quality it aims to achieve. The studio has also delayed the Nintendo Switch 2 port and will now release it alongside the Phasmophobia 1.0 update.
