2026 seems to be an amazing year for horror genre fans. Not only are massive titles like Resident Evil Requiem and Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly Remake coming, but many great indie titles like Project Songbird, Cerebral, and Hotel Espir are also releasing later this year.
One such title is MOLE, an upcoming psychological horror developed by Off Black Creations and published by Oro Interactive. The team pans to release the title in Q2 2026 but has not yet confirmed an exact date.
The game starts with the player sending deep underground inside a massive drilling machine called MOLE. Since the game takes place post-war, the completely destroyed world above forces the player to dig deeper than anyone has before.
As he goes inside, strange things start to happen. The crew that was supposed to be there wasn’t around; the machine feels abandoned, and strange signals keep appearing. The game keeps getting more intense as the player digs deeper and begins to lose his senses. The silence and isolation start to mess with the character’s mind.
The game offers a disturbing experience and focuses heavily on atmosphere, tension, and survival. It’s great to see indie developers focusing on experiences that make players really feel the tension throughout the game, rather than traditional jump scares.
MOLE currently has a demo available on Steam, along with a new trailer. Stay tuned for more on the title and its release date.
