Dead by Daylight Adds New Survivor, oh and James Sunderland Leaked

It’s been a few weeks since Dead by Daylight got its latest guest character, Pinhead, from Clive Barker’s Hellraiser, which was a stand-alone Killer (as in no map or accompanying Survivor). Following that up, they’ve just revealed their latest stand-alone Survivor, an all-original character named Mikaela Reid, as part of the new DLC Hour of the Witch. Check it out:

Mikaela brings with her three new perks, accessible during the game’s PTB, and they’re honestly kind of nuts.

BOON: Shadow Step

A boon that conceals the truth.

Press and hold the Ability button near a Dull or Hex Totem to bless it and create a Boon Totem. Soft Chimes ring out in a 28-meter range.

Any Survivors within the Boon Totem’s range will have their scratch marks and auras hidden to the Killer. This effect lingers for 4 seconds after leaving the Boon Totem’s range.

You can only bless one Totem at a time. All equipped boon perks are active on your Boon Totem.

Clairvoyance

There is an intrinsic energy in you that sees beyond your vision.

Clairvoyance activates whenever you cleanse a Totem.

When empty-handed, hold the Ability button to unlock your full aura-reading potential. For up to 10 seconds, you see the auras of exit gate switches, generators, hooks, and chests within a 64-meter range.

Boon: Circle of Healing

A boon that offers comfort amidst the terror.

Press and hold the Ability button near a Dull or Hex Totem to bless it and create a Boon Totem. Soft chimes ring out in a 28 meter range.

Any Survivors within the Boon Totem’s range gain a 100% healing speed bonus and can heal themselves without needing a Med-Kit.

You can only bless one Totem at a time. All equipped boon perks are active on your Boon Totem.

So that all should be interesting to see implemented. Fans are already pointing out the usefulness of mixing Circle of Healing with Claudette’s Self Care perk, which should (theoretically) give you a massive boost to the natural speed of that perk.

Along with all of this, the new PTB was datamined, and lo and behold, another Silent Hill cosmetic has leaked. Just in time for Halloween (and just after Silent Hill 2‘s 20th anniversary), James Sunderland is joining the game as a Legendary outfit for Heather Cheryl Mason. There isn’t a whole lot known yet, but we do have a look at his in-game character portrait, showing off his weirdly uncomfortable mug. The thousand-yard stare of a uxoricidal maniac, I suppose. Check him out:

It’s nice to see that Dead by Daylight is still offering new Silent Hill content even a year after that Chapter’s release. That’s all for now, but there’s sure to be an official announcement coming very soon. Hour of the Witch is releasing sometime next month, we’ll keep you updated.
