Cronos: Lazarus was officially announced last month as the story DLC for Cronos: The New Dawn. While the announcement revealed very little, Bloober Team has now shared the first gameplay footage in its debut developer diary.
The latest developer diary from Bloober Team focuses on ‘Becoming the Warden.‘ The team reiterates that the DLC will be more action-oriented, unlike the original game, which featured more cautious gameplay. Players can now take a more aggressive approach, as the developers want them to experience a different flavour of Cronos: The New Dawn.
Cronos: Lazarus puts greater emphasis on the human side of the story and introduces new tools, abilities, and powers. The developer diary showcases Teleportation, a new ability that lets players instantly travel to new areas and reach previously inaccessible locations. It also plays a key role in combat, allowing players to quickly manoeuvre around enemies and take them out.
The video also reveals Decoy, an ability that lets players deploy an image of the Pathfinder to distract enemies before killing them instantly. It pairs well with Teleportation and encourages a more aggressive playstyle. Similarly, Gladius is a much deadlier version of the dagger from the original game.
The developer diary also offers new narrative insights. If you’re interested in learning more, you can watch the full video below.
The DLC arrives later this fall for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and PC. Cronos: Lazarus is currently available to wishlist on Steam.
