Control Coming to Steam; Ultimate Edition Revealed

505 Games and Remedy Entertainment are bringing Control, the ‘Action Game of the Year’ (Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences at the 23rd annual D.I.C.E Awards), to Steam for PC with additional digital and physical releases planned for current and next-gen console platforms.

Along with the launch of the AWE expansion, Remedy and 505 Games just revealed the Control Ultimate Edition, which contains the original game, all the expansions (including AWE) and slick new box art, all available for $39.99 USD. The Control Ultimate Edition will be available on PC from the Epic Games Store and digitally for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles on Thursday, September 10 followed by a physical retail release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at a later date.

Players who purchase the Ultimate Edition for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will automatically receive a complimentary next-gen optimized version of the Control Ultimate Edition when transitioning to PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. Also, On Thursday, Aug. 27, the once Epic Games Store exclusive is finally coming to Steam!

There are different release dates depending on the platform:

  • August 27th – Steam
  • September 10th – Epic Game Store, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (digital)
  • End of 2020 – PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (physical edition)
  • End of 2020 – PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X (digital)
  • Early 2021 – PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X (physical)

Remedy will also be showing off the first chunk of AWE with Creative Director Sam Lake and Control Game Director Mikael Kasurinen live on Twitch tomorrow Thursday, Aug. 13 at 9 a.m. PT. The two will be offering an exclusive first look at the opening 15-minutes of AWE gameplay and exploring the award-winning studio’s approach to storytelling, touching upon the “Remedy Connected Universe.” Make sure you tune in to twitch.tv/remedygames to catch the show.
