It seems that a lot of people have not yet heard that Silent Hill Book of Memories is a canonical entry in the series. Before your mind goes all loopy at a canonical entry also being a spinoff game (in terms of gameplay), read my article about why canon is not dictated by gameplay change. Book of Memories may be a spinoff but what’s wrong with the game’s story being canonical? Does the difference in gameplay really affect story potential?
The clear and cut confirmation can be found on Silent Hill producer Tomm Hulett’s blog. This was revealed some time ago by a source I can’t recall, but after seeing multiple websites and fans not knowing so, I figured the recent information was worthy of a dedicated post. Knowledge is power!
