Gamescom 2016: Resident Evil 7 VR Impressions

Despite being missed for a formal press invitation to check out the Capcom Resident Evil 7 Beginning Hour demo in VR at the Capcom booth, we found our way to get hands-and eyes-on with the game at Gamescom.

Capcom has indeed been working on improving the VR effect to help players suffering from motion sickness. There’s going to be a beginner’s setting for people new to VR. However, we’re not sure if this setting was on already at Gamescom, but still it’s good to hear them listening to the negative feedback, though.

Our team is very much looking forward to Resident Evil 7‘s release just like a majority of our visitors are, so we decided to do another video telling you about our impressions of RE7 VR at Gamescom.

Check it out below and also go more in-depth with our E3 impressions here:

That sounds great Dom. I guess VR is the future of gaming and might be a immersive tool.

But I know my eyesight is not the best and feared that I would not be able to play a VR experience.

Sounds good that you did not experience any motion sickness but I guess that is from person to person aswell but gives me hope if I one day would try RE7 in VR.

There is definitely a place for VR in this industry, but I’m not sure this is the future of gaming just yet. Glad to hear they’re making positive changes for this VR compatible title. I hope they’re able to continue making VR progress without having to delay the title. They seem to still be on track for 1/24/17.
