The Scourge (Tai Ương) released to early access back in October 2024 by Vietnamese independent studio Rare Reversee and co-developer Beaztek. Following a strong early access reception, the full 1.0 release recently launched on Steam for global players to experience. A demo version of the title is also available.
The Scourge focuses on a deep narrative about generational trauma and a cruel atmosphere that lingers long after playing.
A first-person psychological horror game set in a 1990s Saigon apartment block, the story follows Nhật Huy, a young man who’s trapped in a disturbing lucid dream inside an apartment. To survive, he must face his sorrows, confront the mistakes of his past, and ultimately overcome an enemy that exists not only in his mind but in real life too.
Following the positive response to its early-access launch, the game is further set to receive a movie adaptation, already in development and slated for release next year. Although details remain limited, more information is expected in the coming months.
