S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was released nearly two years ago as a first-person shooter and survival horror video game developed and published by GSC Game World. While the title did fairly well at launch, the team confirmed last year that it had major updates and other plans in store for the game.

Soon after that, GSC Game World announced S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope as the first major expansion for the title. The developers recently released a new trailer, giving fans a fresh look at the expansion. Now, the team has confirmed that the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl 2.0 update will come out alongside the Cost of Hope expansion on August 20.

GSC Game World has released an official blog post confirming that the 2.0 update, named “Back to the Zone,” will be out in just two days. This is a massive update that comes with major visual and lighting improvements. The lighting in the game has been significantly improved, with almost every corner of the Zone receiving an overhaul.

It also comes with a much-improved A-Life system and new weapons like the Arev AR, GP3A DMR, SKP DMR, and Fora-230 SMG. Not only that, but the update also introduces improved binoculars and weather mechanics.

The update also features customizable difficulty, allowing players to set the experience to their preference. The new version of Unreal Engine has also helped improve the game’s overall performance.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl 2.0 update comes with many other features, such as new environmental and gameplay interactions, expanded modding tools, and much more. If you want to learn everything about the latest update, check out the official blog.
