Silent Hill Revelation looking to release in either late spring or early fall

Don Carmody, producer behind the Silent Hill and Resident Evil movies, recently got in touch with horror movie site Shock Till You Drop about the potential release date for the upcoming Silent Hill Revelation.

Carmody tells the site that the movie might release late spring or early fall of 2012. He also tells Shock that the film is “locked” and the sound and score are being worked on. I guess the summer isn’t the prime time to release a horror film.

Starring Adelaide Clemens, Kit Harington, Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean, Deborah Kara Unger, Carrie-Anne Moss and Malcolm McDowell, Silent Hill Revelation is the 3D sequel to 2006’s silver screen adaptation of Silent Hill.

The first film had mixed reception among fans, but with a new writer/director at the helm, this film might be better than the last. I never hated the first film. I thought it looked beautiful, and despite the massive plot changes and misuse of Pyramid Head, I enjoyed it. Hopefully fans and movie-goers alike will be treated to a much better adaptation next year.
