After much anticipation, Resident Evil Veronica was officially announced earlier this year. While the game doesn’t have a release date yet, it’s already been wishlisted by over 2 million players, showing the massive anticipation surrounding the Code: Veronica remake.
Although it’s expected to launch sometime in 2027, it looks like Capcom may have already greenlit some DLC for Veronica. Recently, Dusk Golem, one of the most reliable Resident Evil leakers, shared a thread on X discussing the franchise’s future.
Dusk Golem explained that Resident Evil has seen consistent releases over the years. However, this pace could slow down following the launch of Resident Evil Veronica. According to the leaker, the developers currently don’t have any spin-off side stories in the pipeline. As a result, the team is working on DLC content to fill the gaps between releases:
Due to a lack of spin-off side stories in the pipeline currently, this RE9 DLC & a future Veronica DLC were greenlit earlier this year as a temporary measure to fill in those gaps fans wants & to respond to RE9 feedback.
Just rumors, for now
Dusk Golem further stated that they’ve only heard about bit of extra content for Resident Evil Requiem and another for Veronica. According to them, both expansions are expected to offer a few hours of content, similar to RE4 and RE8‘s DLC:
I’ve only heard about one story DLC for Requiem & one story DLC for Veronica. Both are being made to be a few hours long up the alley of Separate Ways & Shadow[s] of Rose however
Since Capcom hasn’t officially confirmed these plans, it’s best to treat the information as a rumor for now. Follow us on Facebook to stay updated on the latest developments in the Resident Evil franchise and other news from the horror gaming world.
