Resident Evil Revelations 2’s mysterious villain is a character hardcore fans will know
Resident Evil Revelations 2 sees Claire Redfield and Moira Burton wake up to find themselves in a prison. Their captor seems to be the woman that’s heard talking to them at the end of the game’s recent demo build. The woman explains the nature of the bracelets they wear, which indicate their level of fear. She also loves sounding all poetic and stuff. But who exactly is this woman?
In the latest issue of Game Informer, as part of their huge Resident Evil cover story, the game’s producer revealed that this character will be one that hardcore fans will know, though it may not be easy to tell judging solely from her voice. It’s time for some speculation!
Personally, I think it could be Annette Birkin. Yeah, yeah, I know we saw her “die” in Resident Evil 2, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she actually survived and is now out for revenge for what happened. She may have adopted a new philosophy that serves as a demented evolution of what her husband worked on. She may argue that you don’t need a virus to turn people into monsters, instead opting to go the route of insanity using torture and other sadistic methods to turn people into monsters without the need for an infection. Bringing Annette back would also fall in line perfectly with the game’s focus on family, what with the Burtons playing a central role in the form of Moira. Her inclusion would further develop the Birkin clan.
