Capcom has announced that preorders for Resident Evil Requiem will open on October 29. On the same day, the company will release a special celebration video dedicated to the franchise.
The nightmare begins soon.
Resident Evil Requiem pre-orders will start on October 29th, US time. Plus, we’ll be releasing a video celebrating the Resident Evil franchise at the same time (note: no new Resident Evil Requiem gameplay will be shown). Keep an eye out.… pic.twitter.com/M8ssS8PJsS— Resident Evil (@RE_Games) October 10, 2025
It’s not entirely clear what the celebration video will include, since the first game was released back in 1996. However, Capcom has confirmed that the video will not feature any new gameplay footage.
Fans in the comments have already shared many theories, where some think Capcom might announce a new multiplayer game or a collector’s edition, and others believe it could confirm that Leon Kennedy will appear in Resident Evil Requiem. Another common guess is that a demo will be revealed.
The game will release on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2 on February 27, 2026. Interestingly, the Switch 2 version hasn’t impressed many, as it runs at 600p with DLSS and ray tracing, according to the first technical test results.
In related news, Capcom explains why three Resident Evil games arrive together on Switch 2, saying it just made sense to release them all at once.
