Capcom, Aniplex, and Joycity have announced the release date for Resident Evil: Survival Unit, a new strategy game based on the famous Japanese horror series. However, the title shares only a few similarities with the classic gameplay of the main saga.
The game will be available as a free-to-play title on the App Store (for iPhone and iPad) and Google Play (for Android). It will be ready to download starting on November 18th.
The game pays tribute to the Resident Evil series with many references, while offering a completely new and updated gameplay experience. Survival Unit is a strategy game inspired by classic mobile titles, designed for quick, on-the-go play sessions.
Pre-orders are now open on the App Store, and players can also sign up early through Google Play or the official website. The game has already passed 2 million pre-registrations across different regions, showing that many fans are excited for the release.
Players who pre-order or pre-register will receive a special bonus pack containing useful items to support early gameplay and character development. Players who have not yet registered are encouraged to sign up and join the survival unit.
In other Resident Evil news, a new 4K texture mod for Resident Evil 5 doubles the game’s size and greatly improves visuals, making it feel like a full remaster on PC.
