Interview with Milla Jovovich reveals her thoughts on backlash from fans

Let’s face it, Sony really hasn’t done a good job with handling the Resident Evil film franchise. The movies are , supposedly, based off of the acclaimed survival-horror franchise, instead, they’re just loosely based with loads of action injected into what should be pure horror films.

If you want to see true live-action Resident Evil then I suggest you head on over to youtube and search up George A. Romero’s japanese TV Spot for Resident Evil 2. That’s good stuff. Ironically, Romero was supposed to helm the Resident Evil film franchise, but, that’s another story.

The point here is, not that many people are quite pleased by Milla Jovovich’s character in the movies: Alice. One of the reasons being, of course, that her character has never been portrayed in the games. So how does Milla feel about this? Read the short excerpt from her full interview with CVG below to find out.

Was there a backlash from hardcore fans who were upset that Alice didn’t originate in the game?

Oh yeah, there are, like, 15 people in the world that spend all day really hating me. Like horrifically hating me with a passion. They’re always writing.

I tell them: “Why don’t you just write a script?” But if you ask one hardcore fan about something, they’d disagree with that hardcore fan over there.

Another hardcore fan might think the hunters should have been in the movie. And what are the hunters? They’re big frogs. There are a lot of characters in the Resident Evil games that are not very photogenic.

You’ve hurt the hunter’s feelings, Milla.
