Get a good look at Resident Evil 6 Anthology and Archives; the game will be two discs on Xbox 360
Resident Evil 6 will be available in special editions when it launches on October 2nd. We’re not getting Leon’s jacket here in North America, but we are getting compilations to complement Resident Evil 6 with the release of Resident Evil 6 Anthology on the PlayStation 3 and Resident Evil 6 Archives on the Xbox 360.
Anthology, priced at $89.99, will come with Resident Evil Director’s Cut, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil 4 HD, Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition and, of course, Resident Evil 6. This will be quite a package for fans who were introduced to the series with the more recent entries, giving them a chance to go back to where it all started and experience the whole story (as far as the main numbered entries go). However, all of the included games, minus RE6, can already be obtained from the PlayStation Store so it’s not like newcomers will have to wait until October 2nd to experience the classics.
I already got myself a copy of the Anthology reserved, and yes, I do own all the included extra games! We’re not getting physical copies of the previous titles, but we are getting pretty neat inserts for each title with the download code on the back. You can check out the contents of the Anthology above. Now it’s on to the Archives edition.
The Archives edition for the Xbox 360, also priced at $89.99, will complement Resident Evil 6 with download codes for Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X HD, Resident Evil 4 HD, Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition and a physical copy of Resident Evil: Degeneration. Oh, and Resident Evil 6 for the Xbox 360 will ship on two discs apparently. I’m not exactly sure why Archives houses CVX HD while the Anthology doesn’t…But nevertheless, this is also a nice package for fans, new and old alike.
You can see the contents of the Archives edition above. Yup, two discs. I wonder how they’ll divide the scenarios up between discs. Could this mean that *gasp* Resident Evil 6 will actually have four scenarios? We’ll have to wait and see!
Will you be getting any of these editions of the game?
