Accident on set of Resident Evil Retribution sends 10 to hospital

A platform accident on set at Resident Evil Retribution at about 8:00 this morning has sent ten people to hospital, and injured as many as 16.  At least two individuals were taken away on back-boards, but according to Toronto Emergency Medical Services, none of the injuries were life-threatening.

While Cinespace Film Studios has not released any information on the incident, Toronto Police Constable Wendy Drummond stated that the injured actors – who were in zombie costumes – were moving from one platform to another.  One of the platforms was on wheels and when the platforms separated, the actors fell.

A twitter post from Milla Jovovich states that one person is still in hospital recovering, but is in stable condition.

Apparently, some of the paramedics – while knowing that they were going to a movie site – were a little shocked to find the injured actors dressed up as the undead.  We can imagine the kind of surprise that these guys must have been facing, but it didn’t deter them from being professional.

Here’s hoping a speedy recovery to all of those injured in the accident this morning!
