Night Dive Announces System Shock Remastered Kickstarter

System Shock, the groundbreaking cyberpunk adventure that first introduced us to SHODAN, is getting an upgrade with Night Dive Studio’s System Shock Remastered, which now seems to be coming to Kickstarter. Teasing on their Facebook page, the developer hint at 06.29.16 being the date the crowdfunding campaign will go live.

Night Dive released an alpha video in March, which hinted at them pushing a more sinister, atmospheric horror style than the original had, with its funky beats.

System Shock 2 is, in my opinion, one of the best games ever created. The original, while absolutely amazing in its own right, has not aged quite so well. The engine had some groundbreaking tech, such as animated textures, pushable objects, and more, but the game itself was more than a bit flawed in places, not least some of its more devious, frustrating puzzles. It will be interesting to see how faithful the remake will be to the original. I’ll be watching this one closely.

What are your thoughts, insects? Will you be willing to throw down some cash to run through these corridors? Let us know in the comments.
