New J-Horror BrokenLore: DON’T LIE Launches This Fall for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

Horror specialist publisher Wired Productions and acclaimed Japanese studio Serafini Productions today announced that BrokenLore: DON’T LIE, will launch on September 10, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Ahead of the game’s launch, players can play a brand-new demo, available today as part of Steam Next Fest.

Story

A Japanese psychological horror experience inspired by themes of isolation, trauma, and fractured memory, BrokenLore: DON’T LIE places players in the role of Junko, a hikikomori (the Japanese term for a hermit or shut in) whose carefully controlled world begins to collapse as long-buried memories resurface.

Junko withdrew from the outside world years ago. Now, as reality begins to distort around her, familiar places become twisted reflections of her past, forcing her to confront the people, experiences, and emotions she has spent her life trying to escape.

BrokenLore: DON’T LIE features Japanese voice acting throughout, and combines exploration, investigation, psychological tension, and shifting realities as players uncover the truth hidden within Junko’s memories. As an unseen presence begins to watch and react to her actions, every discovery brings her closer to truths she may not be ready to face.

Features:
  • A Japanese first-person psychological horror experience focused on exploration, investigation, and tension
  • A deeply personal story exploring trauma, loneliness, and emotional isolation
  • Distorted environments shaped by memory, fear, and perception
  • An unseen presence that responds to player behaviour
