ILL was first revealed in 2021 as an early project, but during last year’s Summer Game Fest, the title made an unforgettable entrance with an extremely violent trailer. While the developers have stayed quiet for a year, we were shown another amazing trailer during Sony’s recent State of Play.
If you have been following ILL and have seen its previous trailer, you already have an idea of what to expect. Still, this time around, we received the most extensive look at the project to date. The trailer revealed even gorier moments than before, new characters, horrifying monsters, and much more.
Since ILL is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, the visuals are stunning, and the latest trailer once again showcases the engine’s capabilities. The title promises an exciting first-person horror experience. The player character is someone who’s been trapped somewhere in a strange town where everyone has gone mad, and their goal is to find out the reason behind it.
Team Clout is hoping to do their absolute best to make ILL as scary as they can, with full, intense moments and detailed monster designs. To make it even more terrifying, all monsters will behave differently depending on how players fight them, meaning the gameplay doesn’t become repetitive, and players will have to think strategically to damage monsters.
Players will need to be smart to survive in the town, crafting items and using different weapons as the situation demands. The game will also feature detailed weapon systems, so players will have to be careful about picking the right ammo, checking for weapon deterioration, and keeping weapons in good shape to hunt down monsters.
Sadly, the developers have yet to confirm a release date for the title, but ILL is slated for release in 2027 and will be available to play on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles.
