Hellblade plans to release in August at $30

2017-06-06

After being announced at Gamescom in 2014, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice finally has a release date set for August 8th of this year for both the Playstation 4 and PC. After a short delay last November and a rebranding to include the “Senua’s Sacrifice” subtitle, the team of 20 behind the game are nearing the “finish line” on development.

The length of the title is set to be around 6-8 hours, which was around the running time of Ninja Theory’s past entries: Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and DmC: Devil May Cry. The team found that many AAA titles today have double the playtime, so  they’ve decided to sell the game at $30 instead of the normally expected price of $60. Pre-ordering the game on the PS4 offers a dynamic theme.

Dominic Matthews from Ninja Theory states:

“Our hope is that if we make our Independent AAA work with Hellblade, other developers will follow, leading to a more creative and diverse gaming world for developers and players alike.”
