Halloween: The Game is one of the most anticipated releases of the year, and we are just a few months away from its launch, as the title finally comes out in September.
As we approach the title’s release, the developers, IllFonic, are revealing more information to build excitement. Recently, the developers confirmed that iconic movie characters will be playable in the game.
Playable characters Laurie Strode, Lynda van der Klok, Annie Brackett & Bob Simms from John Carpenter’s Halloween (1978) feature in both single-player and multiplayer modes.
The standard Edition of Halloween: The Game will feature 10 playable civilians at launch: Jennifer, Tanya, Rachel, Eric, Marcus, Thomas, Bob, Lynda, Annie, and Laurie. The official team preview stated:
Presenting fresh reinterpretations of established and beloved characters is a rare honor, and our team carefully respected that. In close collaboration with Malek Akkad and Compass International Pictures, we developed reimagined designs of these iconic characters, inspired by the original film, for our asymmetrical horror sandbox.
Art Director Cole Gray also stated that the team is not just adapting a widely adored movie but worldbuilding around it to boot.
Halloween: The Game is slated for release on September 8 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
