This week brings good news for PC players who do not want to spend money, and this time it is not from the usual stores. While Epic Games Store and Steam usually get most of the attention with their weekly offers, GOG is also giving players something special. Right now, GOG is offering a free horror game that players can keep forever.
You can claim The Whispering Valley for free until Monday, April 28. This is a first-person folk horror game released in 2022, and it normally costs $11.99. In the game, players take the role of a traveler who arrives at an abandoned rural village in Quebec in 1896 after receiving a mysterious letter.

The game mixes adventure and puzzle-solving with classic point-and-click style gameplay, along with a strong horror atmosphere. Players explore ruins and overgrown paths to discover what happened to the people who once lived in the village.
To claim, you only need to log in or create a GOG account, visit the game’s store page, and click on the green “Go to giveaway” button.
Since its release, The Whispering Valley has received a “Very Positive” review rating, based on around 150 player reviews. The game lasts around 2 to 4 hours. It is a slower and calmer experience, but overall players seem happy with it.
