E3 2016: Here They Lie Announced for PS4 VR
New indie team Tangentlemen has teamed up with Sony Santa Monica to create a surreal VR horror game for PS4. Here They Lie is a fantastically creepy game built on the latest iteration of the Unreal Engine, featuring beautiful graphics and sound. While the team isn’t ready to give away too many details yet, the trailer shows the effects of a psychological breakdown as you delve into the meaning of your existence. There is something for everyone here, with Orwellian pig-people, derelict walls bursting with roaches, dark alleyways and tunnels, and flying sharks.
The teaser shows a level of polish not common to indie horror games, and creativity not common to large studios. The developers’ backgrounds are largely to thank for that, with most of the group coming from the development teams of Call of Duty and Tomb Raider. They’ve been working on this project since the studio was created two years ago, and are preparing to release this fall. We should see a real trailer released before then, but for now the team is happy to announce their intentions with the E3 teaser.
