After the success of Control (2019), Remedy Entertainment officially announced its sequel last year during the Game Awards, with a release date set for 2026. An official gameplay trailer for Control Resonant was also shown earlier this year, with developers confirming that they have the largest team in the studio’s history working on the project.
Today, during the recent Sony State of Play, a new story trailer for the game was released, giving a more detailed look at our protagonist, Dylan Faden. The trailer shows the dramatic journey of our protagonist, who’s been sent by the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) to help with the supernatural crisis.
Speaking about the story, Mikael Kasurinen, Creative Director of Control Resonant, said:
As he navigates a distorted Manhattan shaped by paranatural forces and shifting realities, the story explores themes of identity, power, and sacrifice. Once a test subject of the FBC, Dylan must now harness his evolving abilities, confront his past, and learn to trust others in a world he was never meant to be part of. In doing so, he must rediscover his humanity – and decide what he’s willing to lose to save what remains.
Remedy has also confirmed the release date for Control Resonant, set for September 24, 2026, and available to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Players who want to enjoy the game early can buy the Deluxe Edition.
Pre-orders are available starting today, and players who buy the Deluxe Edition on PS5 will get 48 hours of early access to the game. Not only that, but they will also receive a Digital Artbook, Original Soundtrack, Untapped Artifact, Starter Resource Bundle, and an AWE Mission Outfit.
An official steelbook version is also set to be released for PS5/XSX for $69.99, however preorders are not currently available yet.
September is going to be a great month for gaming fans, as many exciting games like Silent Hill Townfall are also coming out that month. Control Resonant is set for this fall.
