Control Resonant New Game Plus Details Shared by Remedy

Remedy Entertainment shared some new details about the New Game Plus mode in Control Resonant, revealing that it is “built to reward returning players, and not everything is necessarily found in a single run.”

According to Remedy, the New Game Plus mode, which unlocks after finishing the main story once, will give players “room to experiment” more with abilities and character progress. There are many options in the game, and it is likely that players won’t explore all of them in a single playthrough.

The idea is to give players more time to try new things, test different builds, and use more special abilities, especially since most of the progress carries over into the new run.

The New Game Plus mode also lets players keep all the upgrades unlocked in the main playthrough, especially those related to combat. However, some movement abilities will need to be unlocked again during the new run. This is likely done to keep the level design balanced.

The artifact system, which is a key part of main character Dylan’s progression in Control Resonant, is also designed with replay in mind. In the first playthrough, players can use only three slots, but in New Game Plus a fourth slot is unlocked. This allows more combinations of passive abilities, combat skills, survival options, and exploration tools.

Control Resonant new game plusEnemies also become more dangerous, encounters change, and some bosses may have new behaviors, forcing players to adapt. New Game Plus gives players a chance to complete quests, bounties, and collectibles they may have missed, or see different outcomes in side content.

Control Resonant is scheduled to be released in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series XIS, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, Mac via Steam and the App Store, and GeForce NOW.
