Bethesda was out in full force this weekend in Dallas, hosting the 20th annual QuakeCon. Since the purchase of Quake developer id Software in 2009, the company has run the gamer-led convention with increasing popularity. Finder.com’s Chris Stead had a chance to talk with Bethesda VP Pete Hines about the possibility of sequels for popular games The Evil Within and Rage. While Hines couldn’t give too many details, he does have hope for both IPs.

I can’t talk about the unannounced stuff and what we may or may not do. I get myself in trouble whenever I do that. Even when we were talking about the Morrowind Remaster, if I come out and say, ‘I just don’t think that is going to happen,’ then people freak out. So I won’t confirm or deny stuff we may or may not do, as people jump to the wrong conclusions. But I do think both The Evil Within and Rage did well enough that we could make sequels. Personally I loved Rage and had a tonne of fun playing it, but we have a lot of stuff in the pipeline right now so you will have to wait and see.

Bethesda has been busy teasing new looks at Prey and Dishonored 2 this year, so they are unlikely to reveal sequels to either in 2016. Perhaps once current titles are released, we will find out more about the futures of both IPs.
