Stormind Games just announced that Akira Yamaoka, the legendary composer behind the Silent Hill video game and film series, will compose the soundtrack for Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy.
This collaboration marks a turning point for the Remothered franchise, bringing one of the most influential figures in survival horror history to shape the game’s audio identity.
Throughout his career, Akira Yamaoka has been more than a composer, he is the architect of a musical language that redefined the very feeling of fear. His haunting, intimate, and deeply emotional soundscapes made Silent Hill an iconic experience, capable of lingering in players’ minds long after the screen goes dark.
Yamaoka spoke about his approach to the upcoming sequel, saying:
Horror isn’t just about fear, but something that remains deep within the heart and memory. With Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy, I wanted to create music that becomes one with the space, slowly seeping into the player and leaving a lasting, unexplainable feeling.
Regarding the collaboration, CEO of Stormind Games, Antonio Cannata said:
Working with Akira Yamaoka represents a defining moment for Stormind Games and for the entire Remothered journey. His work has shaped the identity of survival horror, and we are proud that his vision will help define the sonic identity of Red Nun’s Legacy. This collaboration is not only an artistic recognition, but also an important step in our ambition to elevate narrative horror in video games.
With Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy, Yamaoka will bring his unique vision into a narrative universe already rich in psychological tension and mystery, elevating it even further. The result will be a soundtrack that seamlessly blends with gameplay and storytelling, amplifying every moment of dread, every silence and every revelation.
This collaboration represents a meeting of two aligned creative forces: on one side, the artistic legacy of a master of horror; on the other, Stormind Games’ ambition to push narrative horror to new heights.
Further updates on Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy will be announced soon. The game is scheduled for release by the end of 2026 on PS5, Switch 2, PC, and Xbox Series S/X, including physical editions for PS5 and Switch 2.
