Agony Gets May Release Date Alongside New Trailer

Agony Trailer

While Agony has stirred up some mild controversy recently with the news that it will be censored to avoid an AO rating on consoles, that shouldn’t dissuade any interested parties from checking out the game’s latest trailer.

Coming in just over a minute, Agony‘s launch trailer shows off some of the gratuitous gore and sexual content that has turned the hell-based first person romp into one of 2018’s most anticipated horror games. We see skinless dragon demons, forests full of severed heads, topless succubi, and more than a few pieces of phallic imagery. Player’s will gain demonic powers and evade the forces of hell as they seek a way out of the underworld.

Console owners might be somewhat dismayed that the game will be altered, but that doesn’t mean it won’t still be one of the most violent games ever created. Remember that Manhunt, Mortal Kombat X, and Outlast 2 all made console debuts relatively unscathed, so if we’re lucky Agony will only receive minor changes.

Or it will go down as one of the most violent games ever, but only for PC owners. We won’t know until the game’s release, which you can see in the trailer down below.

Agony will be coming to PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One on May 29th. You can pre-order the game now, although the trailer doesn’t say if there are any bonuses for players who choose to pre-order.

Stay tuned to Rely on Horror as we get closer to Agony‘s final release.
