First announced back in December of 2020, the game is set in the PUBG universe, though no other additional details regarding how it’s connected have been shared yet. However, the developer did provide a synopsis of the game on their official website:
Set on Jupiter’s moon Callisto in the year 2320, The Callisto Protocol is a next-generation take on survival horror. The game challenges players to escape the maximum-security Black Iron Prison and uncover its terrifying secrets. A blend of horror, action, and immersive storytelling, the game aims to set a new bar for horror in interactive entertainment.
The Callisto Protocol will be launching in the second half of 2022 and be a cross-gen launch game, releasing for both last and new-gen PlayStation and Xbox platforms, as well as PC.
