Zombies coming to Grand Theft Auto V?

According to precocious code-sleuths that have been digging around Grand Theft Auto V‘s code, it looks like Rockstar may once again be bringing zombie themed DLC to one of their open-world titles.

Youtuber Chr0m3xMoDz posted a video of his code digging, revealing a DLC screen selection field with an option to choose something called “Dead”. When chosen, the code checks for content called “SPZOMBIES”. Chr0m3xMoDz  also found mentions of a casino, strings of code labeled “ZMB”, and a Trevor campaign involving the CIA and assassination missions. If his findings are correct, which they may likely be, GTAV‘s long-rumored singleplayer DLC may be giving players a lot to do, including fighting the undead.

Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption received a fairly large zombie-themed DLC expansion with Undead Nightmare, which turned the Wild West into a supernatural wonderland filled with monsters, the undead, and apocalyptic horses. Here’s hoping we’ll hear something soon. I’d very much enjoy seeing zombie spread across San Andreas.
