Machine Games wants to do a Wolfenstein: The New Order Sequel

Wolfenstein: The New Order has become probably the biggest surprise hit of 2014. It’s both a critical darling and one of the highest selling games thus far this year. Now the game’s developer Machine Games wants to make a sequel, and gave some hints as to what they may have in store for the future. Wolfenstein’s Creative Director, Jens Matthies, stated the following when speaking with Giant Bomb:

I feel extremely happy about the game that we made. It’s very much the game that we set up to do, which is extremely rare. It’s the first time I feel like the game we shipped was the game that we wanted to make. While there are a few people that didn’t really get that, in terms of the critical reception, there has been a lot of people that did get it. We’re very happy about that. And, of course, you always pay attention to what people think. Not just the media, but individuals in various places. And see what parts they gravitate to, as opposed to the parts that you gravitate to and so forth.

It’s basically a given at this point that a follow up is going to happen, the game is just too successful at this point.
