Kholat developer announces Husk; inspired by Silent Hill, Alan Wake

IMGN.PRO and UndeadScout have announced a new project in the works, heavily inspired by Silent Hill and Alan Wake according to the developer.

Welcome to Shivercliff! A place you’ll never want to leave! We aspire to show our lovely town to every newcomer who stumbles upon its gates. Breathe in the fresh air of our evergeen forests, stroll on the shore, swim in the warm light of a beautiful sunset and explore the infinite maze of karst caves. Get to know your neighbors, as they will be excited to spend time with you. You are most welcomed to become the next citizen of Shivercliff. A place you will not be able to leave…

Husk follows a man named Matthew Palmer, a father and husband, who is searching for his family after a train crash. Realities and nightmares will collide as Matthew searches the town of Shivercliff and uncovers it’s horrors.

It all sounds quite interesting if a bit unoriginal, but well inspired original pieces aren’t usually a bad thing. The project is mostly UndeadScout’s child, which is just as well because IMGN.PRO’s most notable work is the abysmal and infuriating Kholat which I reviewed and awarded a well deserved 3/10. Hopefully the art direction and music carry over and every single other thing about that game does not. You can judge both in the teaser trailer below which does look promising, and the music is Silent Hill all over. Lovely!
