E3 2013: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 gets a horde of new screens

E3 is still in full swing, and Konami has brought their big vampiric heavy-hitter to this year’s show in the form of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. This is the conclusion to Mercury Steam’s thus far amazing Castlevania trilogy, and it’s looking like it’s going to end the tragic tale in quite an epic way.

Tired of getting whipped over and over again, Dracula is now the one doing the ass-kicking, and players are in for quite an experience thanks to his array of abilities and weapons. These new screens focus on some of the characters (young Trevor and Alucard!) and atmospheric environments from the game, which spans 1,000 years. And, of course, we get to see some sweet shots of Dracula himself! You’ll be playing as the series’ baddie in his prime as well as a withered, shell of the former Price of Darkness in a modern-day city setting. Oh, and yes, it’s open-world! Levels are now seamlessly connected and everything is on a grander scale.

The original Lords of Shadow continues to be my favorite game this generation, but this sequel is looking like it’ll be dethroning it. Bring on the red winter!

You can check out the game’s new screens in the gallery below. Also, stay tuned for more Castlevania coverage!
