Gamescom 2016: Syndrome Impressions and gameplay

syndrome2

Syndrome is a first person survival horror game in a space setting trying to revive the spirit of classics like System Shock. We may have a few of those hitting shelves lately, but this one promises to have everything a die-hard survival horror fan could wish for – scarce ammo, challenging stalker enemies that follow you, and an emphasis on good storytelling.

I played the game for a good while and had a really difficult time with it, but not in a bad way. However, I hope some minor glitches with controls and saving can be ironed out before the release of the game.

Check out the video below for some gameplay footage:

I know I said this a million times but holy shit! As a hardcore survival horror fan since I was three, I am fucking amazed by how many true survival horror games are coming out now. I’m fine with stealth horror games like outlast and amnesia ,but I want combat and other kinds of mechanics in there to mix things up and make the gameplay more interesting.

Oh yeah, My criticism on this game so far is the A.I. The enemy you fought lost you in 20 seconds otherwise it looks great.
