Until Dawn 2 Rumored to Return In New Leak, Possibly PlayStation Exclusive

Until Dawn 2 Returns In New Leak, Possibly A PS5 Exclusive

Until Dawn 2 has appeared online again after a year and a half. This time it comes from a leak that cannot be confirmed, but it includes several interesting details. A few weeks ago, a post appeared on Reddit from an unverified source, sharing many details about the supposed Until Dawn 2. The post was later removed, but other users saved it and checked parts of the post, deciphering a few details.

The leak states Until Dawn 2 has been in development at Firesprite since 2021, the same year Sony bought the studio. It also mentions help from some former Supermassive Games developers, the team behind the first Until Dawn. The game is described as a full PlayStation 5 exclusive, with no PC version.

It also talks about use of the DualSense features, including blowing into the microphone to remove dust from an object. The game is said to feel similar to Resident Evil, especially the third game in the series from 1999, but with a story that changes based on player choices.

Later, other Reddit users looked into the leak and noted that rumors about Until Dawn 2 at Firesprite are not new. The project was linked to the codename “Heartbreak” and described as one of the few games not canceled by Sony.

Some users checked LinkedIn and found developers connected to the project, including those who worked on GTA, Red Dead Redemption, and even movies like Avengers: Infinity War and Mission Impossible: Fallout. There are also signs that some developers moved from Supermassive Games to Firesprite.

The idea of a PS5-only exclusive also seems possible, since there were talks that Sony may stop releasing certain single-player games on PC.

Another leak says the game could be set on an island with a female main protagonist, possibly Sam. In the past, producer Will Byles mentioned an idea for a sequel focused on a water creature called a Nixie, which would fit this setting. Some findings also suggest that Firesprite worked on detailed water and ocean simulation, supporting this idea.

Unfortunately, none of this truly confirms that Until Dawn 2 is real, as this is all rumor and unverifiable information officially. Still, this particular name keeps coming back, which makes people wonder if it could hold some truth. For now, we can only wait for official news from Sony.
