The Last of Us may have been delayed

GameStop and Best Buy have been updating their online listings, which wouldn’t be very interesting news if it didn’t involve rescheduling the launch for Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us to June 18th.

The story began with just the update, but it soon spread when Tim Rauter of The Married Gamer Podcast (and presumably plenty of other people) tweeted about receiving e-mails from Best Buy stating that their pre-orders for the game were going to arrive a little later than planned. Since then confusion has hit people, as stores have been updating and reversing their listings; Naughty Dog has yet to comment on the situation.

The story is a little fuzzy at the moment, but the folks over at VGRevolution are continuously updating on the situation (whereas I am going to sleep in a few hours). If you were affected by this or know of any other stores that have been notifying customers/updating their listings, then I recommend and encourage you to share that information. Let’s hope Naughty Dog has an answer for all of this!

Or we might have to wait like… six weeks extra.
