Blumhouse Games and EYES OUT have announced that their highly anticipated horror title, SLEEP AWAKE, will release on December 2 for PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The reveal came during the Galaxies Autumn Showcase, alongside a new release date trailer teasing the game’s surreal atmosphere and existential dread.
Developed by EYES OUT, the studio founded by Spec Ops: The Line director Cory Davis and Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck, SLEEP AWAKE is described as an “immersive first-person psychedelic horror narrative experience.” The game blurs the line between sleep and death, set in a crumbling metropolis where the last survivors of humanity are driven to madness in their attempts to avoid “The HUSH,” a mysterious phenomenon that consumes anyone who dares to fall asleep.
Players take on the role of Katja, navigating the city’s neon-drenched decay while unraveling puzzles, confronting nightmarish cults, and piecing together the truth behind humanity’s fading consciousness. The result hopes to evoke an eerie and hallucinatory blend of psychological horror and immersive storytelling, channeling the atmospheric dissonance of Nine Inch Nails’ industrial musical style.
“SLEEP AWAKE is about the fear of surrendering control — to sleep, to memory, to oblivion,” Davis said in a recent statement.
Fans eager to confront the horrors awaiting in SLEEP AWAKE can now wishlist the game on Steam and PlayStation Store ahead of its December 2 launch.
