Siren stops being a game, becomes a manga

Siren

I don’t get to talk about manga or anime on this website as often as I would like to, so I am pleased to inform you today that the Siren franchise will receive a new, official manga adaption to celebrate the franchise’s 10 year anniversary.

The last time we got to play a Siren game was in 2008 and the previous manga was released in 2005, so the time was definitely ripe for a new entry. The manga will feature a new story overseen by developers who have worked on the franchise’s past installments and will be drawn by a new talent called Wataru Kamio. The first part of this story will be released in the spring edition of quarterly magazine Shin Mimibukuro Atmos, but it’s unclear if Siren fans abroad will be able to buy the manga separately at any point in the future.

The manga will be called Siren: Akai Umi no Yobigoe, or Siren: The Call of the Red Sea in English, and I must say that it already sounds very interesting. I don’t really get to play a lot of games on the Playstation, so for me it’s cool to experience a Siren story without having to invest in a console. What is your take on this and are you interested in reading this for yourself? Let us know in the comments.
