Silver Pines is an upcoming survival horror Metroidvania developed by Wych Elm Games and published by Team17. The developer officially announced the game’s release date earlier this year, confirming that it will launch on October 8.
As we approach the release date, Wych Elm is sharing more information to build anticipation. Recently, IGN released eight minutes of gameplay footage showcasing the 2D survival-horror Metroidvania-inspired style that also draws from the likes of The X-Files and Twin Peaks.
Silver Pines features a variety of challenging monsters and hulking bosses, along with locked doors and hidden paths waiting to be discovered. Players will need to find better tools and weapons to unlock new areas and explore more of the town. the game also features graphic novel-style cutscenes and rotoscope animation, making it one of the more distinctive horror games coming this year.
