Silent Hill: The Short Message was among the first titles to launch in 2024 as Konami worked to revive the franchise. Unlike today, with critically acclaimed releases like Silent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill f, the publisher had only just begun its revival.
Despite being a free-to-play PS5 exclusive, Silent Hill: The Short Message received poor reviews, with only 31% of critics recommending it, according to OpenCritic. It was one of those releases that came and went quickly, which is understandable given its short two-hour runtime.
Two years after its digital launch, Limited Run Games has confirmed a physical PS5 release for Silent Hill: The Short Message as part of a new Deluxe Edition. Pre-orders begin this Friday, July 10, and will remain open until August 9.
While the digital version is still available to play for free, the physical edition costs a hefty $69.99. It includes a copy of the game, a set of art cards featuring Maya’s graffiti art and sketches, an art poster, a Skara acrylic keychain, and an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
For comparison, GTA VI is available to pre-order for $79.99. Silent Hill: The Short Message offers just a two-hour experience and is already free to play on PS5, so asking $69.99 for a physical copy may not appeal to everyone. Still, if you want to own a permanent physical copy (especially in these tumultuous times), this might be your only option.
